Baptism
Catechism of the Catholic Church #1213:
Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word. At St Michael Cathedral Parish, Baptisms take place on the first Sunday of the month at 12.30pm. Parents will be invited to attend a Baptism Course to help prepare them for the promises that they will make in the Baptism service. If you would like to organise for your child to be baptised, please talk to one of the Priests after mass.
